Welcome to the website for the webcast of the Te Papa Colossal Squid event.
The Colossal Squid webcast was available from 9am Sunday 27 April 2008 until 12pm Wednesday 30 April
Webcast recordings - unedited as at 1 May 2008
These initial recordings are of the last 48 hours. There has been no editing and we suggest you move the time line along to parts you wish to watch. Once we have a log of when interesting things happen, we will edit the files and replace the following links with shorter footage. Be aware there is about 48 hours per file. Don't forget to eat and sleep.
If someone would be kind and make notes of the interesting bits, that will help with the editing
Once edited, if Te Papa request, we will make a downloadable copy of each file available.
nb - if you find this early, and not all
links work - we're still copying the files to the server !!

How did the webcam/Webcast work ?
If there is interest, we'll put some notes here, along with graphs on the performance on the Internet. We were using 6 servers in 4 locations in both NZ and USA. We shifted a lot of data, peaking at 1.68Gbps. Our recordings total about 600GBytes
