The Launch of Whekenui
The New Library Catalogue System
On Friday 19 April, 2002, Wellington City Libraries launched their new Library Catalogue computer system called Whekenui. This new system has many interesting innovations, including Samoan and Maori language catalogues. To celebrate the system, Wellington City Libraries, held a public launching function including performances by local artists and groups, as well as an art competition.
