"When is a TV not a TV ? - when its actually your computer !"

As the digital revolution impacts on more areas of daily life, the traditional view we take of many familiar devices is changing. MP3 has turned the radio business on its ear and introduced a state of panic into the recording industry. Is TV next ?  The dream of deploying broadcast quality video via the Internet is nearly a reality, all the necessary technologies are maturing and broadband networks necessary to support are heading for critical mass.

Chris O'Connell from The Bridge has been following the desktop video revolution very closely and has been instrumental in getting the Vortex project underway with the "Creative Cluster". On Tuesday 15 August 2000, Chris spoke at a Digital Wellington Interactive Breakfast Seminar on the likely impact of "web-tv" and showed early examples.
