Uncle Dick had the movie made by Kodak. It was one of the first colour movies made. He was keen on movies making Dorothy stand up in his car operating a camera through the sun roof while he drove through Felixstowe.

Uncle Dick had many degrees and was awarded the MBE after he visited Germany before the First World War and saw the mortar. He returned and built a better one. Part of his work at Ransome and Rapier was to build a dam in Egypt. He fell into a muddy pond and got a stomach infection from which he never really got better. His dining room had a door through to the lounge that rose up. It was powered by water.
