On Sunday, 18 September, the South Africa Rugby Team was hosted by
Ngati Tuwharetoa and Ngati Hikairo at Opotaka. This is the site where
the Ka Mate haka was first performed by the warrior chief, Te
Rauparaha, as he fled his pursuers.
This will be the first time that Ngati Tuwharetoa and Ngati Hikairo
will share their version of the story.
